6 injured in shooting at child’s birthday party in Louisiana

Six people were injured in a mass shootout at a child’s birthday party in Louisiana – including a 12-year-old man.

An argument sparked the late Saturday night shootout at LaPlace, According to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.

There was no lethal attack on Sunday and no arrests were made.

Investigators believe there were two groups of young people involved in the brawl at the party before the mass shootings, but the witnesses were not accomplices, Sheriff Mike Tregre Told NOLA.com.

“We don’t have a witness, not a person who hasn’t seen anything yet,” Tregrae said. “I’m going to be polite – it’s more than a disappointment.”

Evidence shows that according to the report, more than one gun was fired. One victim was 12 years old and several had “superficial” injuries, Tregrae said, but none of the wounds were considered life-threatening.

However, three people needed surgery, the sheriff said.
