Louisville Diner pulls gun on BLM protesters, video shows

Louisville Diners drew a gun at Black Lives Matter protesters who transformed into the outskirts of an upscale restaurant on the day of the Kentucky Derby.

The protesters were demanding justice for Churchill Downs during a march to Brecon Taylor, who was shot and killed by local police in a botched drug raid last year. Louisville Courier-Journal.

Footage of Event A newspaper reporter tweeted Saturday to show Saturday’s armed confrontation in La Chase.

Some protesters intervened and urged the protesters to get away from the man with his gun, and police arrived a short time later, the paper reported.

A restaurant worker told police that “several armed protesters entered the property of the restaurant, which included an outdoor dining space,” according to Fox News

.

Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said “firearms were branded by both patrons and protesters during the encounter.”

Fox said five protesting arrests were made, including one convicted felon and one degree of first-degree threat based on possession of a handgun.

According to Kentucky it is legal to carry a handgun NRA. No gun violence was reported.

The incident comes a week after federal investigators announced an extensive constitutional rights investigation by the bereaved department in the wake of Taylor’s bullet death.
