And then your album ends with “Mom” on a very personal note. How did your relationship with your own mother affect that song?

This is mental health awareness month, and you are really open about being bipolar. Why is this so important to you?
I think when I was younger and going through anxiety and depression and feeling really lonely, I would love to hear about my favorite celebrities or artists or someone I am talking about. Growing up in New York, how did the city shape you as an artist?

I was constantly listening and being introduced to new music from all these different countries and all these different cultures.
