NYPD source: Peaceful NYC weekly protests outside ‘agitators’

Police have found that some “protesters” believe Thursday night is okay for the riots.

A police source told The Post that the agitators from outside have been attacked on Thursday night for staging mostly peaceful protests on a weekly basis.

In that example, three people were arrested after a march that began at 5 pm at Lagardia Playground in Williamsburg. The NYPD said it concluded after midnight at Hemveer Street and Broadway and attracted 150 protesters.

A week ago, protesters clashed with police in Manhattan after a memorial was raided by police-haters in Central Park. Police said five people were arrested on various charges in Columbus Circle near the USS Maine National Monument.

A brief description for “ACAB”, “All police are bastards,” and “F-K12”, meaning “F-K police,” was spray-painted on the statue.

“They are not protesters. They are intent on destroying a small group of agitators. They have other agendas, ”the source said.

Police said that on April 22, one of the protesters, 26-year-old Aiden Harrington, saw a 20-year-old man with a skateboard – then protested the arrest and spit on an officer. He was also accused of kicking a policeman as he was placed in a patrol car. Harrington was charged with assault, assaulting police and resisting arrest, police said.

The source said the NYPD successfully monitors five to 10 contradictions daily, but some incidents on Thursday – such as on April 22 – “take their own lives on social media.”

The source said the victim restrants “do not come forward because they are afraid they are going to be targeted for retaliation.” Which makes it difficult for prosecutors to make their case.

A NYPD spokesman said on Thursday night’s disturbing remarks, “The NYPD has resolved major protests peacefully over the years and over the years. If it is planned and cooperative, we make it work for the protesters, including Civil disobedience is also included. But we are still evolving and we are committed to following the DOI recommendations. We have community affairs officers in leadership who are up front with protesters. We are far from behind. And are holding the SRG and our mobile field forces in the background, so that the protesters do not feel punished or obstructed or flanked by the police. If they are needed, we call them in.

“When property is damaged or crimes occur, we gather evidence, collect video and wait for a reasonable time to take enforcement action,” he continued. “In all of this, we are measuring risk versus reward, and successes versus failures. What we are seeing is that we are less confrontational with the protesters. But some are taking advantage of some of the agitational distance that we are giving them and doing many things of property damage. …

The source said that those who have subverted the protests want to create havoc.
The source said that these people want to create destruction to destroy the protests.

“But the jury is out on whether we have reached the right mix, as many protesters have shown us, time and again, that they are not there to protest the law.”
