Kids are fine.

Teens and young teens began receiving COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday in New York City – the first day the jabs were open to children aged 12 to 15 years.

The teens who got the Pfizer shot, who were approved by the CDC for the age group on Wednesday, said they were relieved and excited to roam safely with other children.

“It was nice to get the vaccine, I felt relieved,” said Daisy Munoz, 12, at the Javits Center in Manhattan. “I’m excited to go to sleep at camp this summer now.”

Her mother, Lexie, said receiving the vaccination “felt like a really big moment.”

Other youths were thrilled at the prospect of digging up their masks.
