Mayor Bill de Blasio was set to sit down Tuesday with Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul for their first face-to-face meeting since Gov. Andrew Cuomo gave his two weeks’ notice.
Hizzoner told reporters before the meeting that he planned to raise the st ate’s slow-moving congestion pricing program with the state’s incoming chief executive and the ongoing battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s really a government discussion, we have a lot to do,” he said during his daily morning press conference. “This meeting is going to be about how we fight COVID and the Delta variant and how we move this recovery forward and how we can coordinate together.”
Hochul is set to become the state’s next governor at midnight Aug. 24 after Cuomo’s resignation takes effect at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 23, her office told the Buffalo News on Monday.
