Hebrew National in talks to be sold to JBS of Brazil: report

The Hebrew National is hunting for a new home.

According to the Wall Street Journal, negotiations are underway to sell ConAgra’s century-old beef hot dog brand to Brazilian JBS, the world’s largest beef processor.

Reportedly, the $ 700 million deal could also include Egg Beaters, Liquid Egg White Brand and Odom’s Tennessee Pride Sausages.

Sales of Kosar Franks, first sold in the Big Apple in 1905, have increased dramatically during the epidemic after slowing down in 2019.

ConAgra acquired the brand in 1993, but is said to be updating its portfolio, which also includes Hunts, Slim Jim, Healthy Choice and Duncan Hines to improve the brand’s appeal when an epidemic occurs.

A ConAgra spokesman declined to comment on the report as a JBS spokesperson did.

JBS, for its part, is beefing up its branded meat portfolio, a year ago acquired Empire Packing Company, which owns Ledbetter-branded retail meat products.

According to the report, the possibility of any deal is within a week.
