A New Jersey home exploded early Thursday — hours after it was evacuated due to severe flooding. The blast destroyed the Rahway home on River Road near Whittier Street around 5:44 a.m., ABC 7 NY reported.

Residents of the New Jersey home had evacuated hours earlier, around 1 a.m. Due to the heavy flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. According to the report.The explosion damaged several homes and a man driving past by was injured.ABC-7

One man who was driving past the home at the time suffer minor injuries and was take to a local hospital, the outlet reports.
