A pregnant woman was assaulted Sunday while trying to thwart a robbery at the Manhattan bakery where she works, police and sources said.
The thief went into Paris Baguette on Sixth Avenue near East 37th Street around 8:45 a.m. and snatched items without paying, cops said.
The worker, who is a few months pregnant, tried to stop him from leaving with the items but the man pushed and punched her, police sources said.
The robber fled from the store but was nabbed by police a short time later, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.
There were no further details immediately available.
