White House Confirms New Outreach to North Korea

White House press secretary Jane Saki confirmed on Monday that the US government had recently arrived in North Korea, but heard nothing.

“I can confirm that we have reached out,” Saki said in his daily press briefing.

He said: “Diplomacy is always our goal. Our goal is to reduce the risk of growth. But to date we have not received any response.”

Kim Jong Un, the arch-rival of the communist state, had met with former President Donald Trump three times, but the billionaire developer was unable to convince an autocratic leader to abandon his nuclear weapons in exchange for seaside resorts and tougher sanctions.

Sasaki said that America’s resentment with North Korea is “more than a year without active dialogue with North Korea, despite several attempts by the US to engage.”

Kim publicly wished Trump and then first lady Melania Trump to recover from COVID-19 in October.
