Tinder is offering a free mail-in COVID-19 test

Tinder is offering 500 users a pair of free mail-in COVID-19 test kits – one for them and one for Tinder Match. The company says this is a way to help people feel more comfortable meeting with people for real-life dates.

It is using tests from medical testing company EverlyWell. People taking Everwell’s coronavirus test swab their noses at home and send samples to the lab. Results are posted online within one to two days.

During the epidemic, dating app companies have introduced new features to help people date safely. A main focus was on ways to facilitate virtual dates, which is actually a good way to meet people without the risk of spreading or contracting COVID-19. Bumble recently launched Night in, a feature that allows users to play games simultaneously on video calls.

Tinder is preparing its test kit Jiveve as another way to reduce the risks of dating. “We are excited to work with Everwell to allow our members to go and complete their matches safely,” Tinder’s vice president for North America Nicole Parlapiano said in a statement.

But giving a test kit does not completely protect a person’s date. Taking the COVID-19 test before getting any new help, but does not completely eliminate the risk: anyone can take the test, send it out, and then catch the coronavirus in the window before the results arrive.

Twitter pointed out in an interface for Giveaway that “a negative test result does not mean that you do not have or cannot transmit COVID-19.”

According to tinder, More and more people are saying in their profile that they want to go on a date. There are ways to make that safer, such as getting outside, wearing masks, or avoiding other people before and after. Tests can play a role in that overall calculation – but a negative result is not a free pass.

Tinder users in the United States can claim a code for tests starting on March 20 at 7PM ET. If you do not manage a snag, Free COVID-19 test Also available in health centers and pharmacies across the country.
