Season 2 of ‘Breeders’ starred Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard

“Breeders” is back, with some parents from 40 (Paul Freeman) and aide (Daisy Haggard) still coping with their children, their parents, and their own well-developed relationship.

Season 2 of the fanged FX comedy, which takes place on Monday (March 22) at 10 pm, moves forward almost six years. The Vorsalis still live in their middle-class London neighborhoods; Paul and Ellie’s children, Luke and Ava, are now 13 and 10, respectively (they are played by Alex Eastwood and Eve Prenley this season). It has become a new set of challenges for him and his parents, who move into this new phase of upbringing with their humor, cynicism, reluctance, nervousness, love – and, yes, anger management issues Have gone – still intact.

“They go through this season as a couple to get away more,” said Haggard, who spoke to The Post with Freeman. In the end, I think they are very good friends and have a good relationship. There are certainly a lot of complications in his path. “

For starters, there is concern that 7-year-old Luke is still present last season as he is 13 years old and traveling further afield. Ava, who is more interested in her stuffed animals in season 1, now spends a lot of time at her computer and begs for a cell phone to lock-step with her friends.

“It’s fair to say that Luke still has a little concern,” Freeman said. “As he grows older, his anxiety is increasing and he is growing himself a little bit more. I recognize Ava as I do my daughter, ” he said referring to 12-year-old Grace. “He is a mini-adult, who sometimes specializes in frighteningly shortening you – and he is a great observer.”

Freeman said that as the season progressed, Paul and Ellie would “definitely have their ups and downs”. “As far as their relationship is concerned – there are a lot of xenigans in the highlights and lesser highlights, but they are still recognizable duets as you saw in Season 1. I think people make the changes, but they are just their fundamental characters. Do not change.

“Paul and Ellie’s strength is that they are quite honest with each other and take Mikki out of each other and make each other laugh,” he said. “They are fond of each other even when they argue or occasionally fight.”

The couple’s parents, whom we met in season 1, will also factor into the “breeders” equation. Paul’s mother, Jackie (Joanna Bacon), and her father, Jim (hilarious scene-stealer Alun Armstrong), who is decently aged, but still faces the challenges of old age and new technology – Like Ellie’s fiercely independent, straightforward mother, Leah (Stella Gonet), who, for the first time, exhibits some vulnerability.

“Paul and colleagues are at their stage in life where they are raising their children and then they have to start their parents,” Freeman said. “It’s always a very interesting and true field … and a little weird too. They are sometimes drawn in two directions. Your children and your parents are the people who mean the most to you in the world.” And are most important to you. Who knows you better – and who can push your buttons more? “
