An 85-year-old man died after the car he was in rolled into the water at a Long Island marina on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The elderly driver became trapped in the submerged vehicle that first ran through from a fence before going into the water at Theodore Roosevelt Marina in Oyster Bay just after 3 p.m., according to Nassau police.
Bay constables and cops retrieved the man from the water. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead less than two hours later.
It was unclear what caused the fatal accident.
