Love is in the air for snowboarding star Scotty James and Formula One heiress Chloe Stroll.
The couple announced their engagement on their respective Instagram pages over the weekend.
“Heyyyyyy, we’re getting married,” James said in an Instagram video. “This is my fiancee.”
Stroll’s caption read “Forever” with a wedding ring emoji.
James, 27, won the bronze medal in half pipe at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang. Included among his six X-Games medals is a gold in super pipe.
Stroll, 26, is the daughter of Aston Martin F1 team executive chairman Lawrence Stroll, who has a net worth of around $3 billion per Forbes. Her brother, Lance Stroll, who she credits with setting up the couple, is a driver on the team.
Numerous celebrities — including Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Elle Macpherson — congratulated the couple in Instagram comments.
“[My brother] Lance actually called me and said, ‘I think I just found the guy you’re going to marry’,” Stroll told the Herald Sun in Australia. “It was kind of strange. I had a conference in Park City (Utah), which was where his next competition was the same weekend and a lot of random things happened.
“Scotty was very cute. We dated for about four months, or as he likes to say, we got to know each other, before he officially asked me to be his girlfriend.”
“I just connected with her in New York and went out to dinner with her at a place called Motel Morris in Chelsea and the rest is history,’’ James said.
