Deshon Watson turning ‘settlement’ in sexual harassment case

It appears that the legal team representing 22 women accused of sexual misconduct by Texas quarterback Deshaun Watson is more willing to discuss the settlement originally thought.

The text message and a recording reveal that a member of attorney Tony Buzbee’s team representing the women approached Watson’s defense to discuss “things that worked” between the parties, According to ESPN.

Buzzbee gave the report after denying the claim of Watson’s defense attorney Rusty Hardin, who said Buzzbee had inquired about a settlement.

Buzzbee said on Instagram, “Contrary to what Mr. Rusty says, we never approached him to compromise.”

Buzzby told ESPN that he is “the only person in this firm who has the authority to discuss the settlement.”

The two lawyers have been back and forth on social media since the charges began in March.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during the draft two weeks ago that the league was conducting its own investigation into the case against Watson under development as well as a personal conduct policy.

Buzzbee previously said that Watson’s four accusers had met the league. A source told ESPN that Watson has not met the league on the matter.
