Destiny 2The next season, Season of the Splacer, surfaced earlier this week, and that means players have a lot of questions that are going to come up. In his last weekly update before the launch of Season of the Splacer, Bungie gave fans some answers in a preview Destiny 2Upcoming seasonal patches, upcoming roadmap, and glimpses of some of the new and returning weapons players can expect this season.
As part of the season’s preview, Bungie revealed some weapons and armor players can expect in the Season of the Splacer. Season pass owners will receive a new Exotic Cider on day 1, along with a shotgun and a heavy machine gun nearby. Players can also earn new weapons through Umbral Engram and Override Perfection, as well as 12 weapons from multiplayer, Gambit, Crucible, Vanguard, and four each for strikes. Of course, this is just a small preview of the upcoming regular and legendary weapons.
The weapons will also feature some of the favorite weapons, including the fan favorite, Hung Jury. Based on Bungie’s preview images, it appears that there are some other returning weapons, including an Omolone sniper rifle and a fusion rifle. These weapons will be available on a weekly rotation in the Nightfall playlist.
A major change in Caesars of the Splisher is how Seasonal Armor is unlocked. Instead of only unlocking to earn the Season Rank, the Seasonal Track Armor will now be unlocked by completing specific seasonal activities. These pieces are also guaranteed with a focused Umbral Engram. Seasonal ranks that used to provide armor would now give things like Glimmer, Legendary Share, Upgrade Module, Alien Engine, Enhancement Core and Enhancement Prism instead.
In this week’s update, Boongie also gave fans a preview of some other content, which is set to be released after the launch of Season of the Splisher on May 11. According to the new roadmap, players can expect a trial of Osiris starting May 14. The Vault of Glass closes on July 6 to open the Solstice of Heroes on May 22 and runs until August 3, and plenty of Iron Banner events, override missions and summit missions along the way. The epilogue event will also begin on August 10, two weeks before the season is over.
Finally, Bungie also gave a brief preview of the patch notes that will accompany the release season of Splicer. The patch notes include new colorblind support options and some balance changes for each subclass. There is also a special note from the game’s sandbox discipline lead Kevin Yance, which mentions that the team is going to look at stasis freezes, slow accuracy penalties and the Whisper of Hadron for possible remaining changes in the future.
