Grislin Maxwell’s sex crime trial set for November.

Ghislin Maxwell’s trial is scheduled for November, as the former socialite faces charges in which she recruited teenage girls for her Jeffrey Epstein.

US District Judge Allison Nathan said in Manhattan on Tuesday that she would aim to begin trial on November 29, after Thanksgiving.

The date is subject to court availability and the COVID-19 protocol.

The trial was originally slated for July, but Nathan agreed this month to postpone his start after two new sex-trafficking charges to 59-year-old Maxwell by prosecutors.

If he is found guilty in eight cases, the disgraced British Society is behind bars for 80 years. He maintained his innocence by sitting in a Brooklyn prison awaiting his day in court.

Maxwell’s lawyers wanted the judge to agree to quash the trial from November 29, three weeks earlier.

Lawyer Bobby Sternheim wrote in a court letter that a date so close to Thanksgiving could disrupt the gamblers’ travel plans and “put the defense in a negative light” as jurors set to expire before Christmas for the trial. Let’s wait impatiently, which it will not happen. “

The date would also put Maxwell in jail, Sternheim argued.

But Nathan declined that request, saying that November 29 would allow the case to continue without the time disbanding the four prosecutors.

Maxwell is accused of trading at least four girls for Epstein between 1994 and 2004. Epstein, a one-time boyfriend of Maxwell, killed himself in August 2019, while on trial on charges of sex trafficking in prison.

Since Maxwell’s arrest, he and his lawyers have complained about the terms of his harassment. They say she was subjected to strip searches, woken up by flashlight every 15 minutes and given almost nothing to eat.
