HTC has removed leaked images that appeared to show a new fitness-focused VR headset manufactured by the firm. Photos and details of the HTC Vive Air were leaked online earlier this week on a Design Award website but now HTC says the headset is “just a concept”.
“It’s exciting to see our concept piece, the VIVE Air VR headset, wins an iF Design Award,” the company said in a statement. UploadVR. “While it is only a concept, the design language has elements and inspirations that you will see elsewhere in our products. We are not one to rest on our laurels, so although it is great to win the award, we have business to attend – hopefully we will see you at Vivecan on May 11/12. “
This is not a statement completely The rule suggests that some similar product works with HTC, but the company is definitely keeping things cautious. It’s teasing New headset shows Next month at ViveCon, but the pictures and signs we’ve seen so far suggest an enterprise-centric model rather than a fitness device for general consumers.
It’s a shame, as is some moment in VR fitness, and the idea of a specially designed, lightweight and washable headset is a tempting idea. However, this is still not a prudent goal for the company. We’ll just have to wait and see what the company has in store at ViveCon in May.
