India’s hospitals are overwhelmed by the ‘tsunami’ of COVID-19 cases

India is running out of oxygen as the number one official in COVID-19 cases is called the “tsunami” of the disease.

Indian hospitals, overwhelmed by patients suffering from coronovirus, requested for more oxygen supply on Saturday as the country set a world record for COVID cases for the third consecutive day, Reuters reported.

A major healthcare chain from Max Healthcare tweeted that it had less than two hours of oxygen left, while another, Fortis Healthcare, said it was suspending new admissions in Delhi.

Reuters said that India had been hit hard by the second wave of the epidemic which resulted in the death of one COVID-19 in Delhi every four minutes.

While the government has deployed military aircraft and trains to get oxygen from Delhi to the country and abroad, hospitals in Delhi are begging the city’s High Court for emergency medical supplies, especially oxygen.
