Jose Abreu, Hunter Dossier in Horrific Pop-Up Collision

Chicago – Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu and Kansas City third baseman Hunter Dozier left the first game of a doubleheader on Friday with undetermined injuries after a hard-hitting first base line.

After popping up in the second innings, Dossier slid his head down and walked out of the batsman’s box. In 2020 AL MVP, Abreu was walking along the first base line, tracking the ball.

Both players ran about 20 feet from home plate as catcher Yasmani Grandal caught Pop in the second round of the innings. Abreu and Dossier fell to the ground and were treated by medical staff.

After a few minutes, Abreu got up and went off the field to walk on his own, but looked stunned and had two medical staff with his arms. The current American League MVP was replaced by Grandal at first base.

Hunter was placed third based on Hanser Alberto in the bottom of the second.
