There is a certain sentiment expressed by a fan base whenever such a visit occurs. The player arrives, he meets, whom he wants to meet, sees what he has to see, the team picks up the vibes from the player and if all goes well, the argument is:
Do not let him out of the building without a contract.
Does this happen to the Giants and Kenny Golladay?
The talented wide receiver meets with the Giants on Thursday evening at his team’s facility, a sign that there is genuine interest on both sides. Gauldey, however, was reportedly meeting with Bears on Wednesday in Chicago, and Bingles there already gave him an offer on a one-year deal. It is premature to speculate that Golade is in great demand, as he has been on the open market since Monday and has yet to find a new football house despite his talent and production.
The giants will do it because of their hard work. There will be a COVID-19 test and then Golade will be given a medical workout. He played only five matches last season, dealing with a hip flexor injury, and it should be well explored. Golladay who will be meeting with judges and offensive coaches and will also speak with general manager Dave Gatelman.
It is not that the Giants had no previous knowledge of shelling. He recently hired Kyle O’Brien as a senior personnel executive. O’Brien spent the last five years with the Lions, and so he can give the Giants an inside and out of the field to watch the goalies.
If everything checks out, the veteran – who is already engaged in preliminary contract negotiations – is expected to make an offer. Increasing confidence in free agency was as much as $ 20 million per year for Golodoy. that will not happen. Figure is close to the goal of hitting the Giants for $ 15 million per year, unless both sides believe the one-year deal makes more sense. Will Fuller, one of the other top receivers available, settled on a one-year deal with the Dolphins. Miami was considered a possible destination for Golladay.
Clearly, this is not a slam-dunk decision for the Giants, or else they would have already engaged in serious contract negotiations and tried to sign Gullade without offering. Clearly, Golladay is not a slam-dunk around the league, or else someone, four days into the process, would have given him a deal to consider and sign.
Why a fuss for Golodai? The 27-year-old target led the NFL in 2019 with 11 touchdown passes, which has two 1,000-yard receiving seasons and, at 6-foot-4, would give the Giants a short length and wingspan in their wideouts. Rounding would be the perfect complement to Sterling Shepard in the slot and Darius Slayton out wide. The Giants also flew John Ross this week, signing a one-year deal to Speed Demon (and hustling with the Bengals).
“It’s a total accolade, he’s DeAndre Hopkins of a poor man,” an NFL source who looks at the Lions tells The Post citing GoalDay. “He’s not great, Hopkins can’t separate but he catches every ball that comes his way.”
According to Pro Football Focus, Goaldoy’s 39 contests have been 10 or more yards in the NFL since 2018.
This year’s NFL draft is filled with receivers, but the Giants only have six picks and would prefer not to go into a corner with the No. 11 overall pick. If their need for players is resolved, if they add Golladay to them and their tour with them could make all the difference.
