Kentucky woman claims hospital recalls her cancer, then covers her

A Kentucky woman claims that a hospital in the state failed to detect her cancer and then, according to a report, tried to cover up her mistake.

Kim Johnson went to Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky in January 2015 for a mammogram after seeing a lump on her right breast.

A hospital letter proved that she had “no evidence of cancer, which gave a mother of eight a sigh of relief.” He went out to have dinner with his family that night.

Ten months later, Johnson went to get a second opinion and received bad news, which would change his life. He had cancer.

“Did I miss a letter?” Or a letter incorrect? that Told NBC News. She searches for the letter Fleming County Hospital sent her to her home, and reads it again, confirming that she has the disease.

“I was crazy. Why did they send me this letter?” Johnson said.

In September 2016, Johnson filed a lawsuit against the hospital, claiming that doctors misrepresented her, and two employees destroyed evidence of the letter saying she did not have cancer.

A spokesman for Life Chain Health, owned by Fleming County Hospital, declined to comment to NBC News, but the company’s lawyers rejected Johnson’s allegations in court.

However, the hospital has admitted that “a clerical error” was made in Johnson’s medical file by an employee who confused her with another patient, which according to the outlet was the same last name.
