Large-scale explosion at Brooklyn power plant: FDNY

According to FDNY officials, there was a massive explosion on the roof of the Brooklyn power plant on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out at the Commercial Building at 2701 West 6th Street at 9:17 am and quickly escalated to a second alarm – 25 units, along with 100 FDNY personnel, to the scene.

The video posted to Citizen shows a large, black cloud of smoke rising from the roof.

There was no immediate injury, and firefighters were still battling the blast until 10 in the morning
