Madison Square Garden is becoming the dominant Knicks factor again

It was after another dramatic win in a surprise season, now one of them, a back-to-back overlock win over the Hawks that pushed the Knicks into the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

A group of Vipul Knicks fans were going crazy at Penn Plaza, jumping up and down, as if the Knicks had won the NBA Finals.

A fan who went viral on social media shouted, “Four-seeded baby,”. Others held the jubilee as well as four fingers after the eighth straight win in orange and blue.

“It’s a buzz in the city right now,” Derrick Rose said. “There’s nothing but good vibrations going on right now.”

This feeling of being around a team that has not reached the playoffs in eight years is not just in the garden. Rose has felt it moving around the city. Energy is different. There is an excitement about Nux that hasn’t been felt in years. The other day, Julius Randle was in Manhattan and was approached by many fans. He thanked them for the season they have and congratulated them for the success of the team.

“They are grateful, honestly, and it’s a crazy feeling that you have as a basketball team or a player that has so much impact on people’s daily happiness, because they care so much about Knicks basketball Do, “Randall Said on ESPN’s “The Voz Pod”.

After the win over the Hawks, Randley told the crowd, “New York, here we are.” They are not alone. Long-suffering fans of the franchise have been a big part of this sizzling run.

Since 23 February, when fans were first allowed to return to participate in games at the Garden, the Knicks have won 12 of 16 contests at MSG, including the final six straight. Which includes wins over potential playoff teams such as the Lakers, Hawks, Pacers, Hornets and Grizzlies. The Knicks have a stunning 20–10 lead at home this year. The building has an energy that, according to Randall, makes it appear that the garden is more than 10 percent full of capacity.

“I think it helps us tremendously. When you only have 2,000 fans, but it seems that there are 18 or 19,000, it says a lot. “When there’s a dead ball, you still hear some of them saying it’s a bad call. You are never by yourself when you are in court.

“As I always say, these fans are different. They really know the game, so whatever you’re thinking in your head, they’re calling Reiff a little bit more crazy. It makes you feel good that You’re not the only person to think this. “

If the Knicks can maintain their hold on the fourth seed, it will give them an extra home game early in the playoffs, clearly an advantage.

The first round of the playoffs begins on May 22, with the play-in rounds (nos. 7-10 seeds) in each conference battling for the final two playoff events beginning May 18.

The garden should be even more grand by then.

On Monday, Gov. Andrew Andrew announced that from May 19, large indoor arenas in New York could expand to 25 percent capacity. This would mean the Garden would have fewer than 5,000, currently twice as crowded. It may not be 20,000, but as the Knicks have already shown, the percentage of fans may be even lower.

“I know everybody is [excited] To really feel that energy to see more fans in the crowd, ”Rose said.
