On Monday, a 20-year-old man sitting in a car on the Upper East Side was shot and killed in broad daylight, police said.
The gunshot occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. on East 95th Street between Lexington and Park avenues, where an unidentified gunman boarded the car and shot the man, police said.
Officials said the man, whose name was not released, was taken to Mount Sinai where he died.
The gunman fled in a white sedan, police said.
The latest act of gun violence comes a day after the Big Apple recorded the bloodiest week of shootings this year.
It was the third shooting on the Upper East Side of this year, NYPD data show.
“Even the Upper East Side is not safe,” a police source said.
