Marvel to debut LGBT Captain America character during Pride Month

Marvel Comics unveiled its first gay Captain America character this week – and is set to play the role in June during Pride Month, a report said.

The character, Aaron Fisher, will be featured in the upcoming United States Captain Comic Book Miniseries, Entertainment Weekly Reported.

In the story, Fisher, who protects homeless youth and the runway, is discovered when Steve Rogers and three other characters set out on a mission to locate Steve’s missing shield, the report states.

“Aaron Queer is inspired by community heroes: inspiring activists, leaders and everyday people to have a better life,” producer Aaron Trujillo told the outlet.

“He stands for the afflicted. I hope his first story resonates with readers, and helps inspire the next generation of heroes, ”said Trujillo.

Aaron was portrayed by Jan Bazaldua, who told the publication, “As a transgender person, I’m happy to be able to present an openly gay man who praises Captain America and against evil Fights that are almost invisible to society. “

The first issue of the new miniseries came on 2 June.
