Michigan doctors tell of ‘price is right’ game

The Michigan hospital system has launched an investigation after a picture was posted online describing the “price is right” -style game during operation.

Pictures of doctors posing in the operating room were shared on an Instagram account, describing themselves by 35 obstetric and gynecological residents as training at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, News station WOOD-TV reported.

In a post, a doctor was seen with an extracted limb in a cancer operation.

“Another game we play in the OR is weight estimation”, one post said. “It applies a lot more than just babies. As always, the ‘price is right’ rules apply so if you go up you are out! “

Another post showed a physician holding fibrous tissue as a patient lay on the operating table, the outlet reported.

“Longest win one! Good job,” Post said.

The Instagram account has since been deleted.

Spectrum Health, which has more than a dozen hospitals, said it has launched an investigation.

In a statement to WOOD-TV, Spectrum Health said in a statement, “We are disappointed to learn that the surgical images were posted by a group of residents on an Instagram account and were taking steps to resolve the issue.”

“The Instagram account has been closed and a full investigation is underway.”
