More than 55 NY Democrats call on Andrew Cuomo to resign

More than 55 Democratic state legislators called for Andrew Cowomo to resign on Thursday – and the Speaker of the Assembly said he would later hold a meeting “further on possible paths”.

The statements by fellow Democrats of Cuomo cited sexual harassment allegations against the two and covered the total nursing home death toll, saying that “they have lost the trust of the public and the state legislature, making them ineffective in the moment . ” Most urgent need

“We have the Lt. Governor, who can step in and move forward for the remainder of the term, and that’s what New York is best at,” the statement said.

“It is time for Governor Cuomo’s resignation.”

In response, Assembly Speaker Carl Hetti (D-The Bronx) said, “In light of the allegations regarding the governor for the past several weeks, I will be meeting with members in a further conference on possible paths today.”

Cuomo has faced increasing calls to resign or face impeachment as twin scandals intensified amid an endless parade of new revelations and accusations.

The latest bombing hit Wednesday when a report alleged that a female Cuomo employee claimed that Cuomo put her hand under her blouse and laced her at an executive mansion in Albany last year.

The incident allegedly took place when the woman was summoned to the official residence of Cuomo’s heavy guard to help fix a problem with her cellphone, Albany Times Union reported.

The paper states that it was withholding the woman’s name, but described her as much less than the 63-year-old governor.
