My PS5 is now matte black for Dbrand’s Darkplates

You might like the distinctive white-and-black look of PlayStation 5. Maybe not you. Maybe you’ll settle for the Zoon-Brown and Orange models as long as you can find it in stock. But whenever you come to the PS5 color, one thing is sure: other options are in great demand.

That’s why Dubrand was betting when he was recently selling his matte black replacement “Darkplates” to sue Sony. The gradual waves of the product are rapidly soldered to the point where they are now almost as hard as the PS5; The next batch won’t ship on May, although you can still put Order back Is in

Anyway, I have no objection to how the PS5 looks on its own, but ever since Dubrand sent to the set of Darkflow, I was curious if they would change my mind. This afternoon I took off my PS5’s lightplate (?) To see for myself.

The process is quite simple. Here is Dubrand’s video on how to replace PS5 plates:

I find from this video that it was a bit more difficult to unload the stock white plates, but I was reluctant to exert too much force for fear of damaging my rare-sense-tooth console. Once you manage to unhook the plates and close them, it is very easy to attach the darkplate in their place – they just pop right in with a satisfying click. It doesn’t feel like you’re doing anything the PS5 was not intended to do out of the box, so I think Sony is missing out on not selling its own official swappable plates.

Here’s how the PS5 looks on both sides with the removal of the stock plates:

And here are some shots connected

Darkshots seem strong and of high quality – they are not just plastic pieces. You would expect more than $ 49 for shipping, for sure. But DeBrand has certainly gone the extra mile to make this product feel like a premium product, and it’s perhaps best expressed by the company’s own spin on Sony’s PlayStation icon microtexture. As on the PS5, it’s hard to see with the naked eye or photos, but it’s there:

Dbrand also sent a matte black skin to cover the shiny black mid-parts of the PS5. These are also available in various colors. I found it easier to apply than I expected, but it didn’t turn out 100 percent right – the skin around the USB-A port was a bit lost, though in no way hindered use. But I am not really convinced that I like this look only to make the middle part shiny.

Here are some shots with skin for a full matte-black effect:

Finally, I thought I’d compare my new matte-black PS5 to the same matte-black Xbox Series X. I must admit, the black finish has a slimming effect on the PS5:

Darkplates, as previously mentioned, cost more than $ 49, while the middle skin is an additional $ 11.95. you can still Now allow, But they will not ship until May. Is this a lot to pay for changing the color of your PS5? Yes. But if you have your heart on this idea, I think you will enjoy Darkshot.
