NJ brothers begin cross-country trek to support restaurant staff

Two New Jersey mixologist brothers are raising the bar on Saturday morning starting on the Asbury Park boardwalk with a foundation stone that won’t stop until they reach the Redwood Forest outside San Francisco.

Aiden and Louis Ardin of Middletown, NJ, saw how much their partners were hurt by the COVID-driven lockdown and slow reopening in the bar and restaurant industry over the past year, and some came up with plans to give back, Their website states. He described the idea as “walking to America”.

Aiden, 28 and Louis, 27, both avid distance enthusiasts with a hobby for hiking and camping, have a 3,147-mile route that will take them out through 11 states on their way across the country. The idea started as a derogatory joke during a trip to Vermont with friends, when Aiden said he would prefer to be in search of rare jobs at restaurants that work under limited capacity restrictions.
