NYPD searches for suspect in NYC bank robbery episode

The NYPD is searching for a suspect wanted in a series of bank robberies this month, the latest on Saturday.

Police said the suspect demanded cash from a TD bank at 3798 Broadway in Washington Heights at 11 a.m. Saturday and made $ 759.

The NYPD released a photo of the suspect wearing a surgical mask under his mouth as he affixed his tattooed hand through Taylor’s window to get cash.

Police identified her as 42-year-old Craig Gernett, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and multiple tattoos on her body, including both hands. He has earrings in his left ear.

The NYPD said it is also wanted for three bank robberies at TD Bank at 451 Lexington Avenue in Midtown at 8:52 am on Friday, where it earned $ 568.

At 1:55 pm, Gernett allegedly hit a branch of Bank of America at 106 West 117 St. in Harlem and displayed a note demanding cash, but ran away with nothing. Police said that at 3:37 pm he allegedly went to a nearby Chase branch at 55 West 125 St., displayed a note demanding cash and received $ 1,000.

On May 11, 2021, police said the same suspect targeted a Chase branch at 24-16 Queens Plaza South, demanded cash and fled with $ 760.

Police allege that Gernet also gave a note to a teller on May 6, and pretended to have a gun at the Citibank branch at 5 Court Square, Queens. He escaped with $ 1,115.
