Patriots trade ties Marcus Cannon to Texas

The Patriots and Texans stay busy.

Houston is trading for the Patriots, right tackle Marcus Cannon Boston Globe reported. According to the report, the club is swapping draft picks in the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds.

It is the first trade between the two teams as Nick Casario left Bill Belichick and the Patriots and became the new Texas general manager. The trade also comes nearly a week after the Patriots brought Trent Brown back in an agreement with the Raiders.

The canon deal was Texas’ second day after making a deal from pass-razor Shakes Lawson to linebacker Benardrick McKinney to the Dolphins.

In 2011, the Patriots’ fifth-round pick and a cancer Survivor dropped out of the 2020 season due to concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Cannon made his NFL debut in Week 10 against the Jets, following the start of the 2011 season on the list of non-football injury recovered from chemotherapy treatment during the NFL lockout.
