Sarah Jessica Parker on John Corbett lying about ‘AJLT’ role

Sarah Jessica Parker says John Corbett apologized to her for lying about appearing in “And Just Like That….” in an April 2021 interview with Page Six.

“He actually reached out very kindly, ’cause he’s nothing if not a gentleman, and apologized for doing that as a joke,” the actress said during her appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” on Monday (per People).

“And then I was like, ’No, no, no. I mean, it’s a free country, first of all, and second of all, I thought it was kind of delightful and fun.’”

Parker, 56, then teased whether Corbett, 60, could actually return for future episodes.

“Having said that, I think he would be … well I’m not gonna — I mean, yes, all of it is possible,” she said, playing coy. “All of it is possible.”

Corbett – who portrayed Carrie Bradshaw’s ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw in the original “Sex and the City” series – casually revealed to Page Six last spring that he was set to reprise his role in HBO Max’s highly anticipated reboot.

“I’m going to do the show,” he told us at the time, claiming he was “very excited” and would be in “quite a few” episodes.

Show writer Julie Rottenberg and executive producer Michael Patrick King later blasted Corbett’s comments in an interview with Deadline earlier this month.

“John Corbett should be writing personal apology notes. We didn’t say anything,” Rottenberg said.

“The fact of the matter is, we never said anything about Aidan,” added King. “We always try to be very restrained and look at the reality of what people are experiencing and it has nothing to do with Aidan coming or not coming. It really just felt like this was a lot for Carrie. This season was a lot.”

“And Just Like That…” is streaming now on HBO Max.
