Shakeel O’Neill’s latest TV blunder may qualify as a “shaktin a phool” moment.
The Lakers were discussing the “Inside NBA” Tuesday night of the successful season of Legend Nights, when he accidentally returned to the Ismaeus Thomas years.
In an effort to shout out Knights star Julius Randall “to play MVP-caliber basketball”, O’Neill instead named Nux alum Zach Randolph.
Co-host Adam Lefko quickly corrected O’Neill and said, “Hold on.” He does not play now. Julius Randall. “
O’Neill joked, “Whatever his name is,” before adding, “You know what? I was thinking about my boy Zach. Z-Bo, what’s up?”
Randolph played for the Knicks in 2007 and 2008, and announced his retirement from the NBA in 2019.

“Inside the NBA” co-host Dwayne Wade tried to help his former Heat teammate, noting that Randolph and Randley shared a similar rude style of play.
Randolph, a 6-foot-9 forward and two-time All-Star, also played for the Trail Blazers, Clippers, Grizzlies and Kings in 17 NBA seasons. Randall is putting on a career-best number in his second season with the Knicks, and is on the verge of his first playoff berth since 2013.
