Spike Lee is making HBO the-series for the 20th anniversary of 9/11

Spike Lee is all about New York City, and his latest project is a daring glance at the defining event of the century: 9/11. His upcoming HBO documentary series, “NYC Apprentices 9/11 → 2021 H,” focuses on 20 years after the 9/11 terrorist attack.

On Monday, HBO said that Lee is in production of “NYC Epicenters”. Describe a multi-part documentary “An Epic Chronicle of Life, Loss and Existence in New York City in the Twenty Years Since the September 11 Attacks.”

In interviews with some 200 New Yorkers and the first 9/11 accounts, Lee revealed the resilience of the city in the two decades since the deadliest terrorist attack on American Earth – and now through the painful prism of the epidemic.

Lee is no stranger to history-based filmmaking. His most recent film, “Da 5 Bloods”, though curiously sniffed by the Golden Globes, was widely regarded as a “dare” on the Vietnam War.

“NYC Apprentices 9/11 → 2021 will” will debut on HBO and HBO Max later this year in commemoration of the 9/11 attacks.

Unhappy at this serious milestone for New Yorkers, Lee’s project is doing the right thing.
