The Knicks’ Derrick Rose is out for another game due to COVID issues

Knicks point guard Derrick Rose will miss his second straight game on Thursday as COVID-19 stayed with his teammates on their four-hour flight from San Antonio, despite issues.

The Knox announced that COVID-19 is still in the protocol, but would not explain why.

Rose’s test before the Spurs game was considered inconclusive. But with Rose barred from playing a second straight game, it is also possible that the San Antonio test was a false positive – which has a slightly stricter protocol.

It was reported that Rose needed to take another negative test, which should be cleared based on her inconclusive test for the Pistons game. Nux would not say if Nux tested positive on Thursday or if another Knicks is not considered as a candidate for the COVID-19 protocol.

“He’s just following the protocol set by the league,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodo said. “So once we are approved and we know how important security is for everyone. So whatever they are asking us to do, that is what we are doing. I know that we have taken every precaution as a team. We have dr [Lisa] Callahan is leading the charge for us and he is in communication with the league. So whatever they are telling us that we have to do, we will do it. ”

The good news is that the Nucks finally got back to starting guard Elfried Payton, who had missed the last four matches with hamstring strain.

The Knows are deep in the point guard position and Rose as a starter before the loss to San Antonio has enabled Payton to withstand injury. Frank Antilina was a starter in San Antonio, but returned to the bench with Peyton’s debut.

“You go to a sport whether hurt or related to COVID, you need everyone,” Thibodo said. “So it is important that there should be quality depth and versatility where people can play multiple positions and are interchangeable. We are looking at this as a position-less league. When you get the chance, go there and get the job done. Do it. I have great faith in our people. ”

Nike rookie power forward Obi Toppin will take it as an inspiration that he was not in Wednesday’s Rising Stars Challenge roster. The game will not be played, but he knows it will be an honor to be on the list. Nor were the traitors Emanuel Quickley, who deserved more. Toppin will have to compromise to be named in the dunk contest.

“I’m not bothered by it at all,” Toppin said. “God has his ways and this is just one more thing that we see, and we work hard every day for the same reasons. Me and quick, we know that we have to be in the gym every single day to get better. ”

The Orlando vs. Knicks will not play in the Garden again until March 18. They start the second half on a four-game road trip.
