A Missouri hunter accidentally shot a hunter on Saturday in what he thought was a turkey.
August a. The shooting occurred just after 12:30 pm between a turkey victim at the Busch Memorial and Weldon Spring Concert Area, police. Told KSDK.
The report states that the male hiker was on the Lewis Trail loop when he was shot in the chest by a hunter.
He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the area in critical condition.
A woman who regularly crosses Pagdandi where the shooting took place told KSDK that she wears bright colors “so no hunter makes any kind of mistake with me.”
A sign at the trail’s entrance announced that a managed turkey hunt was underway in the area.
Reportedly, Sunday was the last day of the turkey hunting season in Missouri.
