The Panthers trade Teddy Bridgwater for the Broncos on the eve of the NFL Draft

The Sam Darnold trade has landed on Teddy Bridgewater in Denver.

Three weeks after receiving Darnold from the Nets, the Carolina Panthers sent Bridgwater to Bridgewater for a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Panthers announced.

The Panthers will pay Bridgewater’s Restricted Deal of $ 7 million, with the Broncos accounting for $ 3 million, ESPN’s Adam Sheareth reported.

Business “doesn’t take Denver out [the] QB Bazaar ”, with No. 9 on Thursday night’s first round of the NFL Draft, followed by Sche. The Broncos were considered one of the teams traded to the top five to hammer their quarterback goal in the draft.

Denver GM George Patan was the Vikings’ assistant GM when he drafted Bridgewater with the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 draft. Bridgewater threw for 3,733 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, but the Panthers went just 4.9 for 15 at the start of last season.

“Getting to Teddy Bridgwater adds competition, experience and a strong veteran presence in our quarterback room,” Patton said. “He is a talented player and leader who has been successful in this league under various circumstances. Being familiar with Teddy of Minnesota, he is going to compete and do all he can to help us win. “

Drew Locke started 13 games in 2020 as a Broncos quarterback. Locke tied Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz – who was traded to Indianapolis in March – for the most interceptions in the league’s last season with 15.
