Weather approved for voting before NYC mayoral election

The Art of Early Voting.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is among 104 sites The early voting on Tuesday was approved by the New York City Board of Elections.

The election will open in the archived museum for early voting on June 12, before the Mayor’s primary election on June 22.

The expansion comes after complaints of long lines during the city’s initial turnout last October.

“We are excited to be a polling place, to play a role in our democracy. And we are equally, if not more excited to invite visitors to come to the occasion and come to the Met, ”said Ken Wayne, vice president of external affairs at the Met Museum. According to Gothamist

Reportedly, Upper East Side Landmark was the only new major cultural institution to join the city in early voting this year. It was allegedly one of 52 organizations that rejected the BOE’s request to house last year’s ballots.

Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum and Museum of the Moving Image will once again participate in the program.

After Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center hosted voters in 2020, they refused to participate in the program’s sophistication effort.

More than a million townspeople took advantage of last year’s initial early voting program, and cast their votes in the presidential election before Election Day.
