$ 107K in enclosure rings returned by LIRR conductor

A very honest LIRR conductor is being hailed as a real gem.

Assistant Long Island Railroad conductor Jonathan Yaloday placed $ 107,000 worth of jewelry in a plastic bag that he found on a train. The MTA said on Friday.

According to transit officials, a Queens resident was working on a train from Manhattan to Port Washington at 6:11 pm Thursday, carrying 36 expensive engagement rings.

Yellowde received the next train at Penn Station and delivered the valuables to the MTA Police.

LIRR said the rings were accidentally overtaken by Midtown jeweler Ed Elesian, who took the train on Friday afternoon to withdraw his ring and hug Yellowade.

“I could only imagine what you were doing yesterday when you realized that you didn’t have your own jewelry. You know that when you leave at 6:11, you’re in good hands, “said Yellow, who has been working on the railroad for seven years.

MTA officials were also there to convince the honest conductor and thanked him for not doing dozens of weddings.

Phil Eng, president of LIRR, said, “Not only did you find and return these 36 rings, but think of the joy of the 36 couples down the street who would join together in joy and have a story to tell.”
