A 70-year-old woman was fatally struck by a tow truck near Union Square Park in Manhattan Wednesday afternoon, cops said.
The woman was hit just before 2 p.m. as she crossed East 17th Street near Broadway midblock, according to the NYPD.
First responders rushed to the scene, but the woman could not be saved. police said.
The tow truck driver remained on the scene, and cops said they do not expect to file charges.
Cops have yet to contact next of kin and did not release her name.
