The winner of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway needed some help to get to Victory Lane.
Ryan Blane took the remainder of the Honors QuickTrip 500 with eight laps from Kyle Larson and then rolled in a win of 2.083 seconds. It was Blaine’s first win of 2021 and the fifth win of his Cup Series career. Blaney became the sixth different winner in the first six races of the season.

Larsen won the first two stages of the race and took a major lead late in Stage 3, only to wear his tires down and slow his car while running long green-flags. That Blaney closed the gap and eventually drove the checker flag.
Below is more about Blaney’s win, as well as the full results of Sunday’s race.
Who won the NASCAR race yesterday?
Ryan Blandy charged late to Kyle Larson, who led 269 out of 325 laps of the race.
“Gosh, we had a great long car all day.” Told Fox Sports after the race. “It took us a while to get going. I was very independent all day, so we made really nice changes to tighten up where I needed it and it felt like Kyle was getting loose.
He said, “I’m glad it worked in our favor that in the end there were long runs of one or two. Allow us to get there. And he slowed down behind some lumpy traffic.”
Blaney’s team Penske’s teammate Joey Logano made the biggest difference to “lapped traffic”. Logano was on the run in front of Larsen and Blaney, when Blane made a pass for the lead.
Larson was not happy with Logano being in the way.
