DraftKings Picks Week 16: NFL DFS lineup advice for daily fantasy football GPP tournaments

It’s not all said and done for those who failed to make the postseason or are eliminated in their season-long fantasy leagues. There’s always daily fantasy football, so there’s no better time than now to check out our Week 16 DraftKings tournament lineups. We’re featuring a low-price QB with his top receiver, and a few boom-or-bust plays fit for GPP tournaments. The savings they provide allow us to include a couple of high-priced DFS studs that we’re excited about this week.

Before we break down our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDsthree-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing yards.

DraftKings Picks Week 16: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

Sunday main slate, $50,000 budget

QB Davis Mills, Texans vs. Chargers ($5,500). Mills didn’t deliver the performance we hoped for last week, but we’re going to roll the dice one more time. He has three games with over 300 passing yards and went over 20 DraftKings points in each contest. It’s worth a second chance considering the salary

RB Austin Ekeler, Chargers @ Texans ($8,100). It may be necessary to double-check Ekeler’s status prior to Sunday’s contest, but he made it through Week 15’s Thursday night affair (16 touches, 18.2 DK points) even though his status was in doubt. The Texans have one of the most porous rush defenses in the league, and Ekeler will be in a good spot to put up a dynamic performance.

RB Rashaad Penny, Seahawks vs. Bears ($5,500). Penny had a disappointing performance against the Rams, turning 13 touches into 50 yards, but smoother sledding could be ahead. Not only are the Seahawks favored by a touchdown, but the Bears have been vulnerable on the ground. Look for Penny to find more production this weekend than he did on Tuesday.

WR Brandin Cooks, Texans vs. Chargers ($6,300). Cooks hit a bit of a skid for a few weeks, but he’s seen 21 targets over the last two games. If his rapport with Mills is growing — as the last two weeks suggest — he should see another 10-plus target. Two more touchdowns may not be in the cards, but we like the chances of another solid performance.

WR Antonio Brown, Buccaneers @ Panthers ($4,900). Brown certainly has some rust to knock off after such a long layoff, but he’s likely to serve as Tom Brady’s top target (alongside Rob Gronkowski) on Sunday with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans (not to mention Leonard Fournette) on the shelf. The risk is worth the potential reward, especially at his modest salary.

WR K.J. Osborn, Vikings vs. Rams ($4,800). Osborn let his backers down with a lackluster 5.1 DK-point performance against the Bears on Monday night, but Adam Thielen should remain sidelined with his high-ankle sprain. The Rams will likely deploy Jalen Ramsey to slow Justin Jefferson for much of the contest, leaving Osborn to potentially handle another healthy target load like he did in Weeks 13-14.

WEEK 16 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

TE Mark Andrews, Ravens @ Bengals ($7,000). With George Kittle playing on Thursday and Travis Kelce’s status in doubt for Sunday, Andrews is the top choice on paper. Not only have the Bengals been friendly against opposing tight ends, but Andrews has 21 targets, three touchdowns, and a pair of 30-plus DraftKing-point performances over his last two games. No matter whether Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley is under center, Andrews will be a featured target.

FLEX (RB) Ronald Jones II, Buccaneers @ Panthers ($5,100). We’ll go against our grain and include two Bucs in the same lineup. But with Fournette also set to miss time, Jones will assume the lead backfield role. We’ve seen that he’s capable of big plays and performances, but now he will have the touches to deliver another one.

WEEK 16 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

DEF Falcons vs. Lions ($2,600). With all due respect to the Lions, there are a couple of reasons we’re picking on them — aside from the fact they have two wins on the season. For starters, they will be without Jared Goff. Before you decide which of the “addition by subtraction” jokes you like best, just remember Tim Boyle’s Week 11 performance (we’ll let you look it up).
