Kops said a 62-year-old woman was hit by a motorist in Staten Island late on Sunday night.
Police said a 19-year-old woman was driving south on Jelen SUV on Helen Boulevard when she hit Hongyang Huang in the Oakwood Heights section at around 9:40 p.m.
According to police, the driver was attempting a left turn onto Tynes Lane while Huang was trying to cross into the “normal crosswalk area”.
In response, officers found Huang lying in the roadway with a head trauma, police said.
Huang – who lived about one and a half miles from the scene – was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and was not injured or injured.
The investigation is on. It was not immediately clear who possessed the light.
