Alex Ovchin is being given a shot by a player for slapping another on the wrist.
The NHL on Wednesday night fined the Washington Capitals a $ 5,000 fine to forward Trent Frederick to the Boston Brins during the Capitals’ shootout victory. Penalties are the maximum permitted under a collective bargaining agreement.
Ovechkin, 35, in his final year of 13, has a $ 124 million contract.
During Wednesday’s third period, Frederick took off his gloves and tried to start a fight with Ovchin, who was not interested. Hence Frederick participated. After a few moments, Frederick hardens Ovchin to try to score Ovechkin again and Ovechkin presses his stick into Frederick’s waist.
