“The Queen’s Gambit” star Anya Taylor-Joy made a jaw-dropping entrance on the Emmys 2021 red carpet Sunday, wearing a pale yellow backless Dior Haute Couture gown beneath a bright opera coat with a dramatic train.
And it wasn’t long before the star’s princess-worthy look began drawing comparisons to Belle from “Beauty and the Beast.”
“Anya as belle? YES F—KING PLEASE,” one person tweeted.
Others compared her to the gleaming gold Emmy statuette itself.
Taylor-Joy, 25, completed her look with red lipstick, piling her platinum blond locks on top of her head in an elegant updo.
Her daring slip dress featured a halter neckline and a plunging back to highlight her Tiffany & Co. jewelry, which included a diamond necklace styled backwards.
Taylor-Joy is nominated for her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie; “The Queen’s Gambit” itself is up for a slew of awards, including Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series.
