Avril Lavigne is engaged to Mod Sun after just over one year of dating.
“Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours ???Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022,” Lavigne, 37, captioned snaps of the pair in Paris during their engagement, which translated from French into English means, “Yes! I love you forever ?? Sunday March 27, 2022.”
“love u so much! Forever n ever my angel,” he commented on her post. The 35-year-old also dedicated a poem to his future wife on his own page announcing the news.
“The day we met I knew you were the one.
Together forever til our days are done.
I had a dream where I proposed in paris.
I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it.
I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.
You’re too beautiful for my words to describe.
I grabbed your hand + took one last breath…
I said ‘will you marry me?’ + she said ‘yes.’”
“I love you Avril ❤️,” he concluded.
The small collection of photos from their Parisian engagement feature Mod down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower and several of them smiling and kissing as the “Complicated” singer flaunts her heart-shaped engagement ring.
Mod Sun previously dated Bella Thorne and Tana Mongeau, while Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. Shortly after their divorce was finalized, she dated Brody Jenner for two years and then went on to marry Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger in 2013, a union which also ended in divorce.
Lavigne also dated billionaire Phillip Sarofim for one year, breaking up in 2019.
Word of a relationship between Mod Sun and Lavigne began when the rapper was spotted February 2021 with an “Avril” tattoo on the back his neck shorty after releasing their collaboration, “Flames.”
They’ve since packed on the PDA for paparazzi cameras on several occasions, including during a birthday beach date and on the 2021 VMAs red carpet.
