Tom Brady in his 21st year of NFL action showed no signs of slowing down. In his first season with the Buccaneers, he led the team to its second Super Bowl title and became the seventh starting of his career, the oldest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
Despite the win during the season and Brady’s strong performance – he threw for 12 interceptions from 4,653 yards and 40 touchdowns – people continue to question his future: Humility, how long he can continue it. After all, he will turn 44 before the 2021 NFL season begins, and he cannot play forever.
That’s why Rich Eisen recently asked Bucks GM Jason Licht Whether a one-year extension signed by Brady through the 2022 season could be the last of Brady’s career. Likt revealed that he has no intention of getting Brady ready to retire soon, adding that Brady may continue to play for longer.

It is easy to understand why Licht wants to keep Brady. Before Brady’s arrival, Lipt saw just one winning season at Tampa Bay, a year in which the Buckeyes took a 9–7 lead. Overall, Licht compiled a 34–62 overall record in his first five seasons, most of which came while Jameis Winston struggled to establish himself as the starting quarterback.
With Brady, the Bucs went 11-5 – a mark they have not reached since 2005 – and won their first Super Bowl since 2002. It was not bad.
The Bucs protected themselves against Brady retirement or regression in the near future when they selected Kyle Trask in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Needless to say, if Brady continues to perform at a high level, the Bucs want him to keep his Super Bowl window open.
