A fighter will draw closer to the first undisputed Super Middleweight Championship in boxing history when WBC, WBA (Super) and The Ring champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez face WBO title holder Billy Joseph at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday. Will be against
Breaking the attendance record for an indoor boxing event in the United States, the massive 168-pound performance will take place in front of a live crowd of over 70,000. And who would be better than boxing’s current pound-king Alvarez to get into the main event?
Alvarez (55-1-2, 37 KO) has chased the undisputed championship for WBA (Super) by defeating Callum Smith and crowning the WBC in December. He followed that performance with a third-round stagnation of compulsory challenger Avni Yildirim in February before turning to the right in the hopes of securing another title against the Sounders on Saturday night.
Saunders (30–0, 14 KOs) is a two-division world champion who defeated Shefat Isoofi by a unanimous decision in May 2019 to claim the WBO title. He won two consecutive titles to his name, but his opponent in Texas would be his toughest test so far.
There is some bad blood between the two in the fight; Canelo promised a knockout, while Saunders aims to outdo the Mexican superstar with his technical prowess.
