Caris Levert to make pacers debut after being scared of cancer

ESPN reported that the Indiana Pacers planned to play Caris Levert for the franchise in their first appearance on Saturday night for the team.

LeVert was acquired from Brooklyn in a multi-team deal that sent James Harden to the Nets and Victor Oladipo from Indiana to the Houston Rockets.

During the required physical before team and league trade approval, a small mass was discovered on Levert’s left kidney. He underwent surgery in January.

The mass was identified as renal cell carcinoma.

He said, ‘I have not lost a game so far this season. I was feeling 100 percent healthy. “So, in a way, this business definitely showed up and found out what’s going on in my body, so I’m definitely looking at it from that side and am definitely humbled to know that Business has saved me in the long run. “

The 26-year-old Leviert averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds (four starts) in four matches in 12 seasons with the Nets. The fifth-year pro averaged 13.1 points, 3.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 225 career games (96 starts) with Brooklyn.
